CLUB PENGUIN DOWN! (Network Solutions)

Club Penguin is currently experiencing Technical Difficulties after forgetting to renew the ClubPenguin.com Domain. Clearly, a simple load of ClubPenguin.com will take you to Network Solutions who lists a Default Renewal Page for ClubPenguin.com containing “Renew this Domain” and “Backorder this Domain.”

The Club Penguin Website has NOT been hacked. Disney and Club Penguin have simply overlooked an important aspect of ClubPenguin.com; the domain’s expiration date. On June 13, 2011, ClubPenguin.com expired and the company was given a week’s worth of notices to renew the renowned domain. Unfortunately, Club Penguin and/or Walt Disney did not receive the notices, and so a week later, Network Solutions has done what they do for all webmasters — listing a default page asking for a Renewal or Back Order.

Because the Walt Disney Company owns Full Rights to ClubPenguin.com, the company has an opportunity to renew ClubPenguin.com. Unfortunately, ClubPenguin.com will likely be down for the next 24 Hours due to DNS Propagation — though some Penguins may see Club Penguin up and running within a few hours.

Update: Club Penguin Disney Online Studios Canada Inc. is NOT closing nor has ClubPenguin.com been hacked! Club Penguin has Renewed “ClubPenguin.com” until June 13, 2013, so the website should be up within the next few hours.

Update #2: I am able to load ClubPenguin.com (Club Penguin), however, the Game’s Media Servers appear to be down (media2 and media1). I am guessing that Club Penguin will work as soon as the company restores access to the Media Servers (which are giving me the RedHat Default Page for Apache).

Update #3: Attention Penguins! Club Penguin appears to be up and running from my end — simply navigate to the Play Section of ClubPenguin.com to test the functionality of Club Penguin.
